“A Life Lived” is a short poem and sound collage that took shape over time—perhaps a year, maybe even three. The past few years have been marked by significant losses, including the passing of my father. These experiences have more deeply influenced my reflections on life. I’ve come to question more and more the way we live and connect more to our world family through the emotions and experiences we all share. Do you believe we are more alike than different? . . An audio recording and edit from 2011 that I paired in 2019 with video. The words were also written in 2011 and are reflecting back to feelings of insecurity and confusion pertaining to the world and my existence in it – feeling that I don't belong and longing to find a different place.

Are you as interested in faith and human behavior as I am? You can probably tell that my work plays a lot with these themes. In this Devil in the Background, I am describing the people who I have come across and heard of that take no accountability for many of their actions. Instead, they say,"the devil made me do it."
